Satan\'s main goal is to deceive

Being careful not to allow any to deceive you Matthew 24:4) And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

(Revelations 12:9) Satan's main goal is to deceive the whole world.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and Satan which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

(Revelations 13:14) Performing miracles is also a trait of the devil.

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

(Revelations 19:20) The deception of the false prophet

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that were wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

(Revelations 20:10) They are cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. This is the ultimate destination of the devil. His final dwelling place. the devils goal is to deceive us.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

(II John 1:7) Many deceivers are entered into the world who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh

1. What does the devil use to deceive people

(Proverbs 23:29) Strong alcoholic drink gives sorrow depression etc

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?

(Proverbs 20:1) Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

2. The deceitfulness of riches.

(Matthew 13:22) He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Satan can use riches to deceive unsaved and the saved.

3. The heart is used by Satan

(Jeremiah 17:9) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Our feelings, our hearts are desperately wicked. We are not to trust in our feelings, we are to trust the word of God instead. Go for God's knowledge, not head knowledge.

(Galatians 6:7) Be not deceived; God in not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Sin has consequences, and sometimes we think we do different to God's word. Thinking we will not reap our sin.

(Ephesians 4:14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about wiht every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

(Ephesians 4:22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrup according to the deceitful lusts; (our former life, desires, corrupt, it will just deceive you.)

4. The Lust of the flesh

(Hebrews 3:13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (we can become hardended by sin; become accustomed to sin and not listen to God. Saved and Unsaved people may be affected by sin. There may be a blinding of the minds of unsaved thru vain belief and you and I that are saved can also be affected if we are not careful.
