Neville Christensen's Testimony

Neville Christensen

I was brought up from a young age to believe that the Bible is the Word of God. I was taught through Postal Sunday School then through the open Brethren meetings and I went to a Postal Sunday School camp(age 11) were I had preaching on Isaiah 64 6 which says "We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
I wasn't sure at the time if I was a Christian and I thought I couldn't get saved by doing good works and it would be hell for me if I wasn't saved and Christ could come back at any time, so I so I might not have much time to make the decision to become a Christian. I realized that I was a sinner, and that Christ died for my sin and I needed to admit that I was a sinner and needed to ask Christ to come into my life and to forgive my sin. So I went to my bed and knelt down and prayed to receive Christ as my saviour. After that I spoke to a camp leader and he gave me some help on the Christian life. John 1 12 was one verse he gave me which is " As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." He also wrote in my Bible " This book will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from this book."
As I read the Bible and obeyed what it said I understood it more and wanted to study it more.
As a teenager I found a book about science and the Bible"Harmony of Science and the Scriptures" by Harry Rimmer which showed me that the Bible was both true and scientific. It was also historically accurate and without contradictions and that none has been able to prove any scientific errors in it. This strengthened my faith in the Bible. Another book that I've read since is called "Many infallible Proofs" by Henry Morris. You can read a chapter of it on the Internet.(http//
I am a Christian because of the Bible and my trust in Christ. One verse from the Bible that has helped me is Psalm 32 8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go I will quide thee with mine eye."
You can put your story etc on my website now thanks

What has helped me in my Christian life Bible reading. Prayer. Meeting & talking with Bible believing Christians.

Good Christian books, some of the writers are John Rice. Watchman Nee. Henry M. Morris. R.A. Torrey. Some times I was often reading a bit from about 10 books at a time. About 4 hours a day, at times. And what I learn, I like to share. So I've lent out a lot of books. Also tapes have been helpful, and listening to Christian radio.

Now I'm on e-mail, I go to the good Bible teaching web sites. Copy some of the studies into e-mail letters to my self, and to share with others. . Nearly a year ago, I got onto talking with people with the Yahoo Messenger. Then onto Fire-Talk, where I found Christian rooms under religion, and spirituality. In this program I can meet and talk and write to people from all over the world, also look at their web sites while talking to them, or listing to them. And also send and get messengers from others at the same time. And can call in other people into the conversation, when I see them on my contact list, etc. It is called having a conference. . I've learnt to share God's word, t. I am also in Pal talk, where you can play music, tape or video, guitar, etc. As well as talk, and write, and send voice messages. I look out for good Christians, new Christian, and unsaved people that I share the Gospel with, learn from, or help. I also put good Christian web sites URL's in the text chat part. Also now I've got a web site now, and I put that in too. So people can find, good Bible studies on the Internet, and get to know and live for the LORD.

2 verses, that have helped, is Psalm 32 8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go I will guide thee with mine eye. {guide... Heb. counsel thee, mine eye shall be upon thee}"

Psalm 37 4, "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Some other good verses are:

2 Timothy 3 16-17, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. {throughly... or, perfected}"

Col 3 15, "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

Php 4 6-7, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

I'll add some more verses, another time. I would like to read your testimony, and has helped you in your Christian life, etc. and what verses have helped you. And also what web sites have you found helpful.
